How does a heat pump work? A heat pump consists out of an outdoor and indoor unit. In winter the outdoor unit extracts heat from the outside air, even at -20°C, which is then distributed in your space via the indoor unit, to provide a perfect indoor comfort. In summer the cycle is reversed and the heat pump takes the heat from your space and transfers it outdoors, to cool your building to a pleasant temperature. Why are heat pumps so efficient? Heat pumps use 75% free heat from the outside air and need only 25% of electricity to heat up your space.
